Hey all,
Im getting ready to buy a set of Extractors for my 6. After researching, asking alot of questions and what not, Ive come up with 2 options. DiFillipo or Pacemaker.. These 2 have from what ive noticed are on the fastest cars, and more powerful cars. The DiFillipo's I can get my hands on for $625, and the Pacemakers im still waiting for a call back on. But around the $500-550 mark im told. At the moment I have a 3inch cat/ 3inch cat back exhaust.. so with the extractor collector being 2.5inch, im going to run a drop saw through the bottle neck, so I have a completely tuned 3inch exhaust with no bottle neck. What do you guys think I should go for? What do you think are better? why? People have said I will loose power if I put extractors on my car... Is there a chance that could happen? I make 137rwkw at the moment, im hoping to reach 145-150rwkw with extractors and new intake (GnD). Doable?? |

the number of people with pacies is much larger than difillipos... however, the performance from a car with the difillipos is quite good...
the pacemaker competition headers are great!!! i highly recommend them. i have the first version of them, with the smaller primaries, and i am still ripping great qtr times. i would really be interested to know how your car goes after the you get headers... you should take it down the qtr as it is now (with new diff gears) and after

I havent updated my signature 1/4 time..
I have been down the 1/4 with the diff gears, I think the only person ive told is Casper. I still went 14.9 but at 93+mph, had big big issues getting off the line.. was wheelspinning way to much.. And when I did pin a launch, I got a 2.064 60ft, but missed 3rd gear. Still went 14.9 though. There is a 14.8-7 there. Im hoping with extractors/airbox it will give me a 14.5 |

Its a tricky question....lol
I am very keen to see the results from Casper's car when he gets it to the track, especially considering the amount of time they spent developing the exhaust for that thing. On the other hand, there is no denying the performance from tri power's beast with the Di Fillipo gear...Anyone else use Di Fillipo's on a 4.0L? What are the dimension's of the Di Fillipos for the 4.0L? How much does camshaft design/selection have to do with it? Probably alot to be honest...but cams are still a bit of a mystery to me...lol. Or is a just a case of 3/5ths of bugger-all between the different options? I dunno... Stiddy, sorry I cant be more help....maybe toss a coin?

Well Im going to put in the same Surecam or slightly bigger that what OED666 has got to start with...
I'll dont know which extractors to go with, not many people have difillipo's so i'll maybe end up going with them, I like having something a little different from the rest. I'll get down to the track again soon before any work happens and try and get a decent time to work with before and after the extractors for a comparison. |

DeathXR has DiFillipos. He's pulled mid 140s, in his XR6. With the edit, mid 160s.
You should be able to do a bit better on the price than $550 for Paccies. Cheers

Pacie comps can be picked up through ebay pretty cheap.
...otherwise give Liverpool Exhaust a call (its a bit of a drive tho).

matt, i havent seen you follow the crowd yet in any way, and from what i can see you dont like to.. every man has got the pacies.. it depends what u want.. but if u can scrape the cash together, i reckon go with your instinct, and get the difillipo's

lol I dont like following the crowd, Id like to do what OED666 did, with a few mods, go out with a cracker of a time with a few parts he picked up here and there without listening to what everyone told him will and wont work.
Everyone told me dont get a 3inch exhaust its too big, I went and got a 3inch exhaust and never looked back! I laugh at all of you with 2.5inches bahaha jk.. Instinct is definately telling me Difillipo's... |

lol if anything the extractors will make it louder and change the note a bit.
The only reason I put it on the dyno was for you bucky lol.. nah I just loving showing off the exhaust on it, people dont expect it from a 6. |
