Default A good detailer in Melbournes' outer east.

I don't need one at present but I was reading a thread re cut and polishing when required (and the dangers for the inexperienced) and would rather have a professional do it. Just for my records at present, any recommendations? Iam located in Wantirna South.

I couldn't really recomend anyone on your side of town , but its pretty safe to cut and polish ya car by hand yourself if you don't trust yourself with an electric buffer ! ( very easy for the unexperienced to burn paint off with an electric buffer ! ..lol ). By hand its pretty safe , allthough takes a long time .

How often should you give the car a general polish? I intend to use Mequiar's.

The less you polish it , the worse it will look , but the paint will last longer , really try to keep away from constantlly polishing with an abrasive polish unless the paintwork is starting to become dull, usually even a #1 polish once a year should be about adverage/ all thats needed , unless the paintwork is really bad and dull .

Maybe do it every few months for those who like their car to look like a new paintjob all the time , but you won;t get as many years out of the paintjob .

Just a quick note megs polish ( in the 1-3 step ) is more a sealant than a polish as it is not abrasive, hard to work things out some times, but as above if it does not need it don't do it, if needed a paint clean and a wax will do fine, the nxt gen wax is also a cleaner doing both steps at once

Cheers
Pete
