Hey all just a quick one can the edit adjust and calibrate the speedo like if you put gears in can you make it suit the gears and read correct again.

No. The speedo is controlled by "cog gear" in the transmission. The edit can adjust shift points for the auto but not calibrate the speedo.

ok thanks so what cog gear would you get for 3.9's i now have the std 3.45's. i thought you could cause a mate got his speedo done on a cv8 monaro with the custom tune.

Holdens are different I assume. As for gears, I'm not sure, I still run stock factory 3.45 diff myself.

no worries , it was just by coincidence i accidentlly stumbled accross it again the other day on the jaycar site while looking for something else , i forgot all about it ..lol ..I have heard of people using this device to calibrate the speedo with an ecu controled car , works fine too ;) .

I've heard of aftermarket 3.9 speedo cog gears going on ebay. Don't know if it's true or not. Might want to keep a lookout.

imo actually 4.11's even without a stall convertor is quite an everyday drivable car and gets up and boogies too when needed .

I know that the speedo gear can be changed to fix a diff ratio change, but I thought there where also scalars in the EEC for things like tyre size and diff ratio..?

^^^^ The ECU has a listing of different rim sizes, tyre sizes etc , not sure about diff ratios tho, guessing it would as the gears would run at different speeds with a different diff ratios. I gotta go see how to get my speedo adjusted since i got 18"s so I'll find out if its got diff ratios in it too.

jaycar product will only alter signal within a narrow band i think 4% so check speed with a gps and get an idea how far out it is and check specs on Jaycar unit.

the adjustment on the jaycar product is a whopping 0% - 99% , plenty enough to calibrate even a speedo out by 100k or so probably..lol
