Default Fuel gauge didnt work

hey just came back to get some supplies(forgot them) ohh btw im going fishing now yes at night...
anyways the fuel gauge was at the below E mark ie when car is turned off..but car was on and i was doing 80+k and it still nothing DTE was working fine going up and down the FUEL light was on the whole time and car was going fine didnt see it until like maybe 100m or 2 down at the traffic lights it was like that so i turned the car off and turned it back on...nothing still the same...did it again and as my luck would have it lights go green and car wont start bloody thing in gear(manual) but it worked after that

any ideas?

getting low on fuel may have caused the problem !

Fords typically have issues with fuel gauges. By the sounds of it, something within the cluster is wrong.

Perhaps putting you dash into Diagnostic mode and looking at screens 1 and 7. If the indicate a reading, your dash guage may be broken. There is a earlier thread on how to enter diag mode, just search for it.

oh and also drove the car a few times this morning gauge worked fine everytime.....ill just wait till my friend gives me his tickford cluster

i had a feeling it was the fuses and relays so i replaced the lot of them - just to be safe
