Default 711m 1600 club day motor to be

I have a 711m 1600 engine in a 4 door mk1 escort which is going to be a club car. I am fifteen and I am on a very tight budget. The engine has twin 40mm dellorto's worked head, extractors and other mods. The engine is going to be pulled out to paint it. Do you have any ideas what to do to the bottom end. Leave it standard or bore it out of what?

Thanks

If you can get hold of a set of 1300 pistons, you can get the crank stroked and bring the capacity up to 1750 (I think). You'd need to talk to some of the X-flow gurus but there is plenty of fun to be had with the old kent motors.
I wont tell you what I'd do to it but then again I'm no longer 15 and I drive a worked 2lt Pinto everyday. :

We have a spare 1300 but it has the dish pistons in it as well witch is a shame but on a positive note it came with a 1300gt head. We were given the car for free which had the 1300 in it. The car is a complete wreck so it is the donor car. I am getting a spare 2 litre of the same guy. Eventually I will do it up properly when I have the money.

What car do you have a mk1 or 2?

Thanks

I've got 4 cars, but I've had just about every small ford going. I've got a Mk 2 RS2000, a Mk 1 Escort van (fitting a 1600 next weekend), a Mk 1 GT V6 Capri & a Mk 3 Capri which will eventually have a V6....Just got to find the time.

Hi

Capri's, escorts, cortina's are the best ford's with a few exceptions such as the hard top falcon's and the old xr's and ho's. Just got to try and get some money to finish my car.
