Default thinking of buying a AU

hey hello!

im just new to the forums, and have been on a couple of cruises all ready!

as the subject says, I am thinking of buying a AU XR6.
now what I want to ask,

can you guys tell me the positives and the negatives of an AU XR6 series 1?

I would get a lot more knowledge of what I am buying and would consider all points given!

thanks in advance!

Ive got an AU XR6 series 1.. best car Ive ever owned..
yeah im a little biased, I love the car..

Your best bet would be to look in http://fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=646
that will give you a list of problems..
If your lucky like I have been you will hardly get any problems..

little sluggish in auto form, but it also comes down to what you want to do to/with the car..

thanks for the link!

at the moment I have no idea what I want to modify on the car.. I haven't bought a AU yet, so there might be a car around for a good price that has allready been modified..

Yeah, well its ultimately your call..
Id go for an XR6 and mod it yourself, you get more satisfaction from watching your pride and joy go better, stop better, handle better, look better etc etc..

Pay a little extra and you'll get a SeriesII - nicer bits inside and probably a little better build quality.

Mate, I own 2 AU's. I reckon they are great.

The XR6/8 is a ripper. Nothing looks like it!

All the best with your purchase.

but darn nices rides there!!

till now I got nothing more then positive points!

tomorrow I will have (and hopefully test drive) a manual XR6!
and if things look right...! Ill be setteld!

thanks again!
