Tinting windows at home can only end in bubbles and tears.

I think its one of the few jobs EVERYONE leaves to the pros.

Did my Xe years ago with rear window limo grade tint ( illegal back them , maybe stil is now ? ) , all FLAT windows (sides) were possible and hungf in there for a long time , no bubbles , but had to remove windows and make the tint tine a bit lower than the bottom of the window edge , so the edge of the tint was allways below the seal so it wouldnt catch when winding the window up and down .. imo the rear window is a ИИИИ to get it right without and wrinkles or bubbles ( any window with a bad curve , also finding a fullsize 1 piece tint sheet to fit the rear window is the prob sometimes ) . Nowerdays if i was gonna retint i would just get it done pro - they allways gonna do a better job and for the sake of taking out all the windows to get it right / the time it takes etc etc etc , easier just to pay $300 to get the lot done as someone mentioned above - so it is doable to a certian extent - but aint worth the frustration , and ull get alot more years out of a pro tint + they usualy come with so many years gaurentee too.

sorry last i heard yes the silver is illegal because it is like a mirror on a sunny day, thus majorlly reflecting the sun and blinds other drivers ( apparently !).

Meh, I took my BA to the "professionals" last week and paid them to get it right, which was obviously too hard, and I'll have to take it back on Friday to scream abuse at them until they fix it.

Had both my AUs, wagon and sedan tinted at Tint Professor for $540!

Job is very good and at that price, why would I go through the trouble of doing it myself.

All the best with it though, whatever you decide to do.
