I thought I would show a pic or two of my latest CAI mod. SS Inductions do one for around $350, but that sort of coin is hard to justify just for some molded plastic and a piece of aluminium. I settled for the Aunger unit, got it for $170, and the mouth and pipe on this is considerably larger than the tickford T series one that I have removed (it's up for grabs), also it did require me to remove the airbox and almost double the size of the intake opening! You can certainly hear the induction noise now, the car feels more responsive. (by the way, the Casper mod. is no good to me, I have the plastic covers over the XR lights, and I didn't fancy running silicon pipe in the engine bay). I made a scoop from some scrap aluminium which when the bonnet is closed, it forces air as the car is moving, directly into the intake mouth. All up cost, $170 plus scrap metal. This is a lot better than $350 IMO!
Cheap couple of kilowatts! : |
