Default Mk1 2L

hi all, im just in the process of fitting a 2L engine into a mk1 escort

ive been told that i will need to modify the radiator support panel to fit the 2L radiator (which i dont have yet). now i like to make things look as factory as possible, so im just wondering if anyone has any photos or diagrams to show how a factory Mk1 RS2000 radiator support panel is shaped?

thanks in advance for any assistance

cheers, dave

Years ago when I put a 2lt into a mk1 I just cut the side plates off the radiator that you would use to bolt it the rad support. This made it posable to put the front harlf of the rad through the dap support. No cuting of the body in any way & looked factory.

Dave

the cut out people talk about is removing the top of the radiator support to allow the radiator to sit further forward than the cross flow rad.
there is also a recess in the front on the bottom running the width of the radiator as well
hopefully from the pic you can see the radiator brackets are opposite the the original rad for a crossflow

thank you very much - i see exactly what i need to do!
think i might try cutting the ends and folding it neatly under the rad support to try and make it a little stronger than just cutting it out
thanks for your help!!
