The auto T1 TE50 didn't come standard with the steering wheel controls for the stereo. If I can source a controller with all of the cables, is it possible to connect it up or is there something else I need to get it to work? Also, is there a difference between the S1 and S2/3 controller or is it the same with just the head units being different?

The problem is the T series had the gear shift button's on the steering wheel, which use the same connection wiper's on the steering wheel as what the radio button's use on a normal fairmont etc. So you'll need to work out some way of connecting the wires thru that won't tangle when turning the steering wheel, or just disconnect the auto buttons, if its a manual then i don't think they used the buttons for anything, so should be all good?

Advice from Ford is that it's physically impossible to run the stereo controls and ESS wiring, and I use my ESS too much to disconnect it. Looks like it's back to good old fashion controlling the stereo from the stereo itself.
