If yours is a standard Escort eg 2 clock set up, there is no factory space for a tacho. The 6 clock set up you see on ebay for a Mk1 Escort comes out of a GT,RS2000 or Twin Cam to put these into the dash it must be cut and a few other things changed, the only exception is when a clock was optioned on a Mk1 Escort. They used the same dash and instrumentation as the GT,RS and TC but removed the tacho and replaced it with a clock (it is very similar to the TC Cortina one)
