Default Forced AU's

Finally convinced my bro that to make an AU boogie its gotta have boost

Still gotta work out the best intercooling method and ECU, but aiming for high 12's on the stock engine, until it decides it doesnt like 15 pound of boost anymore!!!

Sounds like a good plan, now should I start a poll so people can bet on how long a stock engine will handle 15psi?? :

just out of curiosity, what should be done to an AU engine so that it can handle 15psi?

Geoff from snort performance has an engine build plan that should do that all day every day. It involves new machined pistons, and little else.

Aftermarket engine block ;)

Stock ones can't handle more than ~500hp

Looks good mate. Just out of interest can you tell me what the oil cooler he's got is? Looks like engine oil cooler and I think I seen a very similar one on another AU. Is it a Ford thing or aftermarket - what brand etc.? Was it fitted on account of the blower or already there? Thanks.

The 220kw AU XR8's came with an oil cooler from the factory.

What other mods go hand in hand with the 15psi, I must say i am pretty shocked at that much boost via a stockie!

At 15psi on a stock V8 I'm guessing the engine will start modifying itself soon enough.

Thanks mate. I knew T-series had 'em but didn't realise all 220 XR8s had 'em as well.
