Hey, my Head unit is stuffed and i was thinking of replacing it, its just the standered xls ute cd player with controls on a momo steering wheel, but the hight of the falcon cd players are huge has any one replaced one? and what with to fill the gap?

I would suggest you click on search and try searching for "au headunit" as there is half a million threads on this. You can replace it with a single din player and fill in the bottom with a AU series 1 pocket for about $20

That is the part number for the pocket if you take out the double din head unit, and fit a single din head unit. Its around $13 to buy from Ford. Hope it helps.

is the replacement pocket from ford grey or black?

It comes in grey only. Ihave a black interior, and left it grey, as it breaks the mould a little. Can always just paint it black though.
