I hope this isn't the start of something bad.
Tonight, pulling out of the woolies carpark, I noticed that the light on my clock was not on. With previous AU1 dash experiance, I gave the dash a thump, and sure enough, the light came back on. I stoped for fuel, and when I started the car, I needed to repeat this complicated procedure... Why does it do this? Loose wire? Crap globes? How can I permentally fix this problem, as tommorow, I'm pulling the dash facia off....

It could be the twist style globe holder coming out out of it socket , or even maybe the plug that plugs into the back of the clock could be half hanging out / not clipped in propperly , or it could be that a spring fillement in the globe has broken off 1 arm but still hanging on / half blown globe sorta ! , knocking it can make the spring fillament contact the arm again and make the globe work again .... could be any of the above. If your gonna change it , imo do yourself a favour and change it to an led , they are alot less tempremental and have a much longer life than a bulb/globe . ;) gl

Had the same thing happen my my AUII LCD display for odometer/tripmeter ... I used to have to flick it to get it to come back on ... until it died totally.
Eventually took my cluster out and checked it ... and both globes were dead (filament was busted in them and one was discoloured as well)
