Default AU2 automatic gear change problems

Im new here searching for a possible answer to a problem with the AU automatic gearbox.
With mine it works fine most of the time then sometimes when it changes from 1st to 2nd it will go into neutral for 5 to 10 seconds.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

My wagon did this only with the BA shifter - no idea why. Sounds like it's time for a fluid check and top up, and possibly a new solenoid or two - take it to a transmission place and ask them to check the codes - that will help them identify what may be wrong with it.

My AU11 sedan did this a couple of times on cold mornings, transmission fluid level was down a bit, had a full transmission service and it did it again (once again cold).
Took it back and apparently u must have the motor running and car in gear when topping up transmission fluid.
It took a further 1.5 litres and has been as good as gold since.
Hope that's all it is with yours too
Cheers

You should always fill the transmission fluid .... then while on the hoist .... select forward and reverse gears and load up the auto trans a bit .... this pushes the new fluid through the transmission ... then top up again ... then take it out for a test drive to make sure shifting is fine.

I find on the really cold morning -2 deg C and less that I need to let the car warm up a bit before driving off .... just helps a bit as well.

But to me it sounds like you auto trans is low of fluid ... best to get it serviced

that is called slippage. two clutches have to be engaged to drive in any sort of motion. if only one clutch is engaged, you will be in N. it could be that one clutch is just not gripping enough causing it to go into N. take it to a speciallist.
