Default Thieving Scum......

Had two of the centre caps from my standard BF XR8 alloys stolen today.... Went straight to the ford dealer and got chatting.... apparently these things go missing all the time. They had new ones straight from the shelf. He reckons that they fit straight into some after market alloys, so they look "original". Just wish the after market buyers would buy their own. Fifty dollars later, car looks normal again. I'm going to park at the same place tomorrow (Charles Darwin Uni), walk away and watch with my video camera handy. If the little turd comes back and does it again, he/she is gonna get candid camera'ed. Then straight to the cops, bet they do nothing!!!!

Little pricks, yeah genuine centre caps arent cheap. What is wrong with people... I would suggest gluing them in or something except they need to be removed for tyre changes/wheel balance... also it may cause the vandal to damage ur vehicle further.

Good idea with the vid camera.... if there are any security camera's in the carpark then try park in view of them.

a small dab of superglue on the inside will hold it fine. a sharp tap will also break it free from the inside out..

I thought that if I do catch the little turd/s on video, I would post them on the net..... Then leave flyers around the UNI for people to go to my web site and watch the little puke/s in action. Shame is the key!!!

Wouldn't have thought you could even get them off from the outside.
My crappy aftermarket wheel ones require quite a hit from the inside to get them off.
Where would you grab onto from the outside?

EL Futuraistic,
Why do they need to remove the centre cap to change the tyre on a rim??

I use silicone on the ones on my landrover, (they just fall off, there's not much demand for LR caps) It's easier for tyre places not to damage them when they are changing tyres and they are plenty secure enough.
Regards,
Tote
