: This is also posted in the AU Falcon Section
I see that on the AU TL50 (optional on the TE50 or other way round) that there is ESS which is just really switchable tiptronic/auto gear. If I brought a TL50 steering wheel (god forbid : ) can I somehow hook the gear up/down buttons up to somewhere and where? Bassically - is this possible, and how hard will it be to do. BTW, I know that these steering wheels are big bucks, but when the Mrs. says "family car only" your limited more then the RTA will ever inpose. : |

Unfortunately it isn't that simple - there were a number of (expensive) bits that went into the BTR box to actually make this work plus some changes to the (also expensive) ECU. You would also lose the audio controls off the steering wheel as there isn't enough room to run the extra wiring down the column. It is possible but it is expensive.
Cheers Russ

Stay tuned - in a few weeks I may have some more info on how this can be done "on a budget". Can't say much more than that at this stage though, sorry.

VegaBass - if it works for an AU, it **should** work for an EF or EL as well. Not sure about pre-EF though.
And it's not really me doing the work, but someone else. All will be revealed in the fullness of time.
