i got sent this address today, on this site you tap the tune to a song your looking for and it tries to identify it for you. I tried 6 songs and it got 4 of them.
They have 48000 songs in their database at the moment, and its growing. www.songtapper.com

My mate has this program that when he plays a song in Winamp it looks up the lyrics for the song. Pretty cool. I think it is called EvilLyrics or something similar.

Yeah EvilLyrics is pretty cool program, it can be used with Windows Media Playa too

It worked for me. I did "Happy Birthday" (You know, the song you sing before you cut the cake) and in the list I got:
∙ I Am A Transexual ∙ I Wanna F!#* Aaron Carter ∙ Aaron Slaney Is Homosexual ∙ Happy Birthday
