Can someone help me locate on my AU 2 Falcon sedan where the best spot to place a trolley jack is to lift it up and also the best place to put jack stands front and rear.

Best place for the front is the frame rails just behind the front wheels. Thats where they recommend. I believe its in the users manual where to put them.
At the back the live axle is ok to go under the diff housing but IRS is not, that has to be at the back of the frame rails.

I've had some minor squashing / bending of the frame rails with my trolley jack. I'm going to make up a piece with some tube steel that mimics the factory scissor jack pattern. I'll put the trolley jack under that I reckon.
I actually usually use the scissor jack from the wagon, does a good job. GK

Cool thanks! I will try that and the bracket to mimic the factory jack, seems like a good idea.

As Casper said do not put the trolley jack under the diff if you have IRS. |

With live axel it is easier to pull the diff out of the car, change suspension compents.
There there George it will be alright.

Having IRS makes it hard to get the oil back in the diff as the filler is close to the exhaust.
I can hear your sobs from here George !!!!! |

I find a sold flat piece of timber will reduce the likelihood of bending rails as well .... this is when jacking the car up.

Hahahahaha ... OK ... now that's going a tad overboard.
I guess it depends on how much you really LOVE your car
