Hey All
Well I was driving home last night and thought i would give the car a bit of a push so i went to drop the car back into 2nd but the gear box would not change. I tried first as well and the gear box still thinks it in drive, as i take off the car just keeps changing up no matter if it is in first or second or drive. Third holds it's gear and i can get into reverse no problem it's only first and second that seem to be effected. I don't know how long it has been like this because the last time i manually selected the gears like this was a week or so before and they were fine then. The gearbox feels smooth and the changes feel normal just got no first and second gear selection. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this Thanks in advance for any help Alpineau

How fast were you going? It will change regardless if you are going too fast for the selected gear.
Otherwise check the fluid level for starters |

i know the 6spd ZF's will stay in drive if they box gets too hot.
maybe the 4spd BTR's do the same? yeah check your fluid levels etc.

I have checked all the fluids and there fine i think i will have to take to an auto shop and get it looked at, i can't see it being a big problem because the auto is shifting fine it's only the manual selection that's not working
