Well it looks like the time has come for another car, because I want one. The question is whch one to get and why, the XR8 has 63k and is an auto and the VCT has 116k but is a manual and is 3k cheaper. What do you guys think?

The 8 is $18,990 and the VCT is $15,990. This sound about right?

I'm leaning towards the 8 atm, just because it is an 8 and i've always wanted one but i'm getting a lot of pressur from the missus to go the 6. The 6 does look a little nicer as it's black but I also like the narooma blue of the 8. I don't kmow what to do.

If you don't get the 8 you will always wonder what could have been. I didnt hesitate one bit when i was looking - had to be an XR8. I did look at 6's and even non XR's, but when it came to it, I knew what one I was going to buy.

Well an 8 would be fun and you could do heaps with it, but if it were me I would go with the 6, and buy a nice set of rims, prolly a little bit better on fuel and its a manual, after driving an auto then going to a manual you will never look back best thing I ever did.
but then on the other hand you can't beat the sound of an AU XR8 at 3500rpm...... |

An eight will last longer than a six and the six has almost double the Kilometers on it. The 8 hands down dude the fuel milage is not much different and you will never get a six to sound like an 8. Can you tell I'm biased.

go the 8 ,to serouisly make the six compare youll spend a fortune not too mention headaches ,8 with simple mods will have most sixes (bah the later stuff)
I spent years playing with sixes and just gave up bought the AU xr8 and 35000kms of hard driving so far ,low 14's out the box nearly puts out as much pwr with the basic mods as my previous supercharged I6 falcon motor did just to give an idea |

It's also apparantly the 220kw engine, that sound right? I know my E series but am completely lost on the AU. Here's a link to the ad for it http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/...a/1960747.aspx

v8 of course . i don't know why these are the only two cars in the world, so just look for a manual xr8 i have had two au2 xr8 man. utes. both awsum cars that **** all over my misses' au3 xr6 sedan. look on carsales or carpoint you will have a choice of 20 manual xr8s for that money. if your worried about fuel my utes used less then my ba 6 and WAY less than my ba2 xr8 ute. don't even consider xr6

If you want the best of both worlds, keep looking for a manual...
But if thats not that all important to you, got the V8 220kw motor (I changed my mind, because given the chance i'd go the v8 to.. plus the 220kw motor only makes the deal more sweeter ;)

Thats a beautiful example of an XR8 and yes it is a 220. Youre already around 35kW ahead of the VCT.

Eights are great, they don't really use much more fuel than a 6, they go and sound fantastic and will satisfy your soul ( that you will realise you have after you buy a v8!)

Well if all goes well then there might be a new member joining AUFalcon.com. It'll be sad to see the EL go but 220kw, who can argue with that?

I also would like the 8, however the fact that it is an auto makes the choice the vct for me,autos are fun robbers. As was said by I6corp...try and get a manual 8.You may regret not getting the 8,but you may also regret not getting a manual.

If you only had a choice between those two, I'd say go for the 8. It's a nice colour too.
