Default diy stereo options

I am looking at changing over my current speaker setup in my AU Falcon, and i was after a bit of advice. I currently have replaced the stock HU with an Eclipse CD5435 which is running stock front coax and Kenwood Kenwood 7x10s in the back. The thing is, my old man upgraded his AUIII Ghia which had the Premium setup with splits, 4 channel amp and 8" sub. Should i just stick all that gear in my falcon? i am unsure about installing splits in the front, as i would like to put them in the stock position in the A-Pillars, but would have no clue as to how to run the wire from there to the doors! also, how much power does the stock amp have? would it run a better pair of splits and a better 8" sub? also, do falcons have the amp mounting bracket in the back behind the trim? if not, is it available to buy from ford?

It's easy to replace the splits in the A-Pillars. Bit of fiddling, but you can do it. Just need to take a lot of stuff off. Run the wires down the doors, and behind the dash. You can use the existing speaker wire. Or you can run all new wire into the door.

The Premium sound, will sound good, but really, if you went out and brought decent stuff. You'll have a much better sounding setup.

I believe all Falcons have the bracket there AFAIK. Just bolt it up to it.

Thanks LG, i might have a look tonight. Being a falcon, my car wouldn't have the wires for the tweeters there at all would it? Also, how hard is it to run the power cable through the firewall to the battery? i have not done an install on a late model car before.

Not sure what your car has done to it. But you can easily use the clutch cable hole. It's large enough for a 4AWG cable.

It wont have the wires for a tweeter, but it's very simple to run some wire down the side of the dash. You just have to pop a few covers/caps off, and have a good arm to get behind the dash.
