Question HID Kit in 09 Fiesta Zetec

Morning all,

Just a quick question on this, my misses has a 09 Fiesta Zetec and i was thinking about putting HIDs in it. as it has projector lens and also are adjustable.

My question is, will the HID kit etc start to ruin the lens and plastic cover/housing? As someone said to me they get too hot for the Zetecs??

Some info would be really good!!!

Cheers.

You'll be fine with HID bulbs in the fiesta, just buy a decent kit and a good K rating. Keep it around 5k and you'll be fine. As for the heat, HID bulbs will run cooler than most Halogen bulbs.

Got the kit, but you cant put the metal clip back over it to secure the hid globe in place?

Any ideas how to install the kit? And also how to secure the HID globes in place? Help would be great!! Even better of someone has some pics

Cheers!!

If they are the correct globes for the car they should slide in and the clips should work..
Seating any globe can cause grief, just make sure it's the correct globe and its in the right way. As for fitting, did it come with a wiring diagram? They are pretty easy to put in just by looking at them.

Did you get the right hid kit, what type of bulb was in it in the first place.i have know installed 2 hid kits,on 2 different fords and best place for ballasts is on the metal bar strengthener behind bumper bar, keeps them cool while driving.Getting the clips back on behind the globes can be a PIA,but is doable. But not sure how much room you have behind bumper under headlight on a Fiesta, mine have been ba and bf installs.

Yeah the Fiestas runs a H7 globe - so its a H7 HID kit, the globe itself fits in there, but unlike other cars that have a metal clip that goes over the normal light globe to hold it in place, the metal clip for the Fiesta is semi inbuilt into the plug itself (when u plug the normal globe into) and wont fit over the HID fit cables etc.

I hope this makes sence :/ the misses really wants the kit in her car haha

Cheers!!

Can you take a pic of it? You may need to modify the plug and clip by the sound of it.

I found this on a Fiesta Forum

For fitting its just like a normal bulb but does differ as you will need to have the bulb go though the cap into the lights. On the fiesta it's only a rubber cap so just cut a small hole and the grommet on the cables will make it watertight. Plug the positive and negative into the original bulb power source and secure the ballast

And Found these

That may help you out a bit
