Hi guys....
I have noticed that the top part of the door panels of our AU (where it joins the sill / window) are getting wavy. It's not extremly bad but its noticeable and i am a picky person which spots every tiny detail thats not right. I am sure it has got something to do with the age, temperature , sun exposure etc. I was wondering if a trimmer could make it all nice again without damaging the soft and squishy vinyl part. I suppose if you warm up the panel with warm air and carefully bend it and straight it out it could work..but what do I know...its just a theory. Would be happy to get some ideas...thanks guys cheers The Moose |

Hi there...
not at the moment but I'll try to make one... Its like the top part of the door panel.... when you open the door and you let your view glide alongside the top of the door panel you can see that it is wavy. The Moose |

I can get a pic of a door trim off the car so you can see what it is like on the underside; should be a matter of re-streching and gluing the vinyl.

Hi there...
It is not the vinyl itself ..it is the black hard panel of the trim....the one where the vinyl is glued on. Thats the wavy bit. I just mentioned the vinyl because if it was possible to even out the wavy parts of the black hard plastic base of the door panel with heat, it might damage the vinyl...you know ? See...if I press the uneven part down it looks even...but as soon as I take my finger off it restores that uneven position... just imagine that line is the top of the door panel it doesn't look like that: __________________________________________________ _ it looks like that: ________________----_______________---_______________ there are uneven parts of it and its not the vinyl that got disconnected of the hardplastic base...it is the base itself that is slightly deformed (sun exposure?, age? ) The Moose |
