They had variants up to 3l in the UK.
The ad for the camper on Trademe said Austin 1800 though. Not much torque for all that wind resistance.

why is it that i had rocks in my "Mission" Brand Whole Black Beans?
Why is it people drive at 80kmh in a 100 zone when its single lane, then do 105kmh in the overtaking lane, i either have to sit behind them or speed up to 120kmh to get past before the lane ends? Why is it P platers sit in the right lane on a freeway? they just passed their licence and would have just read that this is illegal?? Why is it that when i drive my Soft Top Vitara bigger 4x4's cut me off and tailgate me? do they think i'm a chick and get annoyed when they realise i'm a 35y/o dude and then cut me off? Why is it that I'm still at work on a friday at 6pm waiting for someone to arrive so I can go home? don't they know the weekend has already started?

Why is it that stupid, ingnorant touristy types will happily spend $100k on a top of the line 4x4 with all the bells and whistles and not have the sense to do 5 minutes reasearch about the environment they're about to go into and spend $100 on a compressor and tyre gauge before venturing into deep sand.
We were parked on top of a very high dune sending the kids down on sandboards when I spied this idiot in a shiny new black Landcruiser coming out into the dunes. Straight away I knew he was in trouble when he was revving the teets off of this thing and putting up rooster tails from the front wheels and not getting anywhere. He made it about 200m up the shallow rise before bogging in. He backed out and backed up about 100m then tried again. After the 3rd failed attempt he finally got out and let a couple of pounds out of the tyres then backed up and tried again. 3 more attempts later he got out and let a bit more air out. After each attempt he backed up a little further till he was basically on the edge of backing himself over the edge of the sand drift down into the surrounding scrub about 3m below; he had literally backed himself into a corner. He finally spent more than 15secs on each tyre and let a decent amount of air out of the tyres then proceeded to hammer up the slope with, what I could see, was still too much air in his tyres for what he was going to encounter over the next rise. I was tempted to follow him just to see how far he got before burying himself to the axles, then charging him $50 to snatch him out but we didn't have time as it was getting late in the day and we had 70km to go to get home. It wouldn't surprise me if he spent the night out there till someone found him as we hadn't seen anyone all day till this guy. ................ oh, and he was alone as well to top it off. DIK-ED.

Why is it that people do not understand that "Keep left unless overtaking" applies on three and four lane roads ?
Even (especially !) "Professional" drivers in heavy vehicles ! |

Why is it that your daughters who live on their mobile phones dont pick up or return your calls. If its a mate they are all over it if its dad...will call him back later. Funny as I type this I am waiting for many of my work associates to return calls. Its just a courtesy thing to return your calls or not aparently...
The main gripe with where I work is communication or lack of it returning calls or acknowledging emails seems highly optional...

Why is it that when I go to a Bunnings Super Store that there are 3 staff members in every isle greeting me a good day but when I head to the checkout there is only one open?

Why is it, when I go to Bunnings for one item, I buy 5 other things I don't need, and forget what I went there for.
And why is it, when I go back a few days later, I repeat the same process, and still forget what I initially went for... |

Why Is it when I go to Bunnings they have enough stock to almost but not quite complete the job I went to buy stuff to complete?
Why is it that there are hundreds of helpful Bunnings people all over the shop untl you need help to find something or have a ticket written Why is it when you take your ute / trailer in to the trade section of Bunnings to load a heap of bulky items there's some moron parked in the middle of the road way that's loaded up with a 15kg bag of sand and cement and wandered off to pay for it blocking the whole road way

Why do you idiots go to bunnies in the first place?
There are quality hardware stores all over the country willing to do a great deal for you and be personal about it. After 12 years since I last visited a bunnies shop and was escorted out by security because they would live by their 'we'll better it by 10% I was told by family friend who is now working at same store my photo is still on managers office wall.... hmm think I could pay him a visit again. I am treated as a friend by the staff of Home Hardware, get special prices, discount card and intelligent helpful advice. You guys are your own worst enimmies polluting that ugly green shop

We had a fantastic independently owned hardware store less than 3km from my front gate, you couldn't pull in there and buy a sling of timber, but if you rang him before lunch on Thursday you would have it on your lawn when you got home Friday unfortunately he shut the doors on June 30 last year because too many locals were driving past his door to go to bun-yips This guy was a proper hardware store Nails by the KG, the whole bit, he even had an urn at the door with coffee for the tradies now its bunnings and masters as far as the eye can see we have a home and a miter 10 but they're further away than bunnings, I put in the hard yards and went to the Miter 10 a few months back to get some paint, after the chick finished telling friends the story of her sons year 10 formal and finally asked if she could help me she told me that they didn't get that special in, (6L cans of exterior paint) and wasn't willing to help me with 3 X 4L cans of exactly the same paint, I left and unfortunately I had no option but to go to bunnings on my way home who bettered the miter 10's special price

Why is it that there are 3 utes and 7 "traffic Controllers" on a straight section of road, with 2 blokes on ride on mowers cutting grass 3 meters from the edge of the road............
And we all pay for this sheer wastage.............

bwa ha ha.... what did the paint chick look like? I'm guessing that is thw windsor mitre 10?- I will tell you a tale of that Mitre 10. My brother was the retail manager up until 2012. The owner got in a consultant - we'll call him Mick - who redid the store pricing based on his "successful formula" - which meant jacking up the prices & reducing available stock. This is "successful" in rural areas where bunnings & masters are non existant - not so much when the bunnings is less than 5 mins away. This so-called consultant had a track record of doing this to other small hardware stores, then buying them when they failed & selling them to, you guessed it, bunnings. The only store which got wise was Canada Bay hardware, who turfed him. They are slowly going down the tube though....... geez I wont hate that when they close! btw, who was the independent guy?

So why is it.... I wasn't working for a while so i had everything done, dinner cooked, plants watered, misses was working about 25 hours week average.
Now i am working near 12 hour days, the house is a mess i rarely get dinner cooked and all the plants outside are dying because they haven't been watered for a week... Why bother, hope i'm not the only one stupid enough to put up with this lol. |

your not alone damo, since l started at school again (granted its night school) my room mate has done nothing about picking up the slack around the place, but he will do a whole load of clothes each day for three weeks straight so l end up taking my washing to mum and dads (30min trip, normally includes dinner) to do it gosh this is tiresome, but the plus side is a good roast normally lamb or pork love it!
now for my why is it. Why is it that l am now an uncle? well that happened cause at 2:49am this morning my sister gave birth to Charlotte Rose who weighed in at 9 pound 11 ounces, for people unacquainted to the old school measuring system that's just shy of 4.4kg |
