If Falcon was so Euro, then why would Cab Drivers feel the need to accessorise?

No the styling was based on an cunning combination of a run-out Taurus, an upturned canoe, and a particularly toxic batch of crystal meth. Certain Ford execs adopted this style concept knowing that it would one day make the performance models into true collector pieces.

Remember Europe is always a few years ahead in terms of styling trends.

Now Japanese cars have no style.

All of those cars except the BMW Isetta, Fiat's and the Lada are from companies that don't exist anymore, and in the Lada's case, were never a success.

The good cars, world benchmarks, from Europe, outweigh the crap. Why else would every manufacutrer in the world be trying to sell cars with "European styling and feel?"

Sorry for the thread hijack, I'll stop talking arguing with Mr. Brick Wall... _

PS: Forgot about the old Citroen's.

Oh fine.. just one more...

Alot of the European companies that don't exist anymore were either crushed by communism, or dared to be different and not accepted.

Calling European styling gay based simply on those cars shows lack of a number of things, two major once being knowledge and taste. Or do you think your BA XR8 is the be-all-end-all of performance and styling? (no offense to other XR8 owners out there).

All you could say to all those other cars was childish crap and call them 'filth.' You're either so one eyed that its beyond belief, or embarassed that there are 'little hatchbacks with more handling then horsepower' that could leave you for dead, in all aspects of motoring?

I'm out of this argument/thread-hijack. Again, sorry for going off-topic.

You have to remember that a lot of those Euro companies have histories that go back just as long as Ford does.

Those Citroen SM are classics now, going up in value.

Bit of a far out choice there, piccking pictures of cars that are mostly from the former Eastern Block.

just typed silliest cars in europe into google, just a sample of what was spat out. This is the bar! If anyone is silly enough to argue the honour of french cars or such like in a Ford Forum and to take it seriously, I'll take 10 minutes out to oblige. I'm a caring kinda guy. :alien2:

I'll go one better than the 80's...back in the 60's we made our own..grab a bit of timber, shape it..grab an old pair of roller skates, rip the undercarriage off and put onto shaped wood.

Then just for fun skate from the top floor of Miranda Fair shopping centre car park and hope you did'nt fall off near the bottom of a 2/3 storey ride...now that was fun,no ppe at all and always lost some bark.

As for the car styling...beauty is in the eye of the beholder....and yes one does need to have a SOH and not take oneself too seriously.

I spy an Escort Cosworth... Mmmmmmmmmm.

Pity that's not exactly the best picture I've ever seen of one, that colour doesn't do it justice. But performance wise, yes, it would give many cars a good run and beat many of them easily. 227bhp at 6250 rpm with max torque 220 lb.ft at 3500 rpm, Permanent four wheel drive with 34/66% front/rear power split, 5 Speed MT-75 manual five speed gearbox, all in a car that weighs a bit over 1000kg, and most importantly, ITS A FORD!

Anyway...

I agree with back2thefutura regarding customer service, and if he does open his own business I would be more then happy to finally work for someone who values good customer service as much as I do!

Haha! Oh boy, I can't believe I fell for this one!

When I first started reading this thread, I began to imagine a world where you could walk into a servo and buy a tasty snack. Yes, a trusty pie and a coke with some kick. Sure, I sampled a decently cooked pie from a servo once, back in the day. And even cracked a bottle of fanta which had that so-called "zing". I don't doubt that they once existed. I even remember the days when a Big Mac was tasty and filling before 3am.

However... And this is the bit that lost me...

You honestly expect me to believe that you could walk into a store and buy something, anything, for under a dollar?

Pffft... Yeah, righto. These joke threads just get zanier and zanier.

Oh hell yes. $2.65 for a bottle of Coke from the Caltex here, its extortion. $4 for a pie that tastes like its been picked up by 10 drunks walking past then put back in the pie warmer, seals the deal for me. I NEVER eat Servo Food, most Ill buy there apart from petrol is a bottle of water.

There was a time you could buy a pie,coke/fanta and put enough fuel in the car for a cruise that night for a $1.00.
