Not necessarily true. Its a popular theory, one that's followed by many racecars, which are run in the same way they're going to be used, on the limit.

Race engines arn't exacty build to last though.

I have heard it can be beneficial to run in the engine hard. My personal view on this is doesnt matter the Km's on the engine once shes warmed up anything goes

i do redline mine through every gear and it still doesnt go like that car.. something says a 680 BHP Cosworth engine is slightly better than the duratec 1.6... just slightly..

well for 20grand you can have a 300bhp duratec engine fully assembled. all you need it a sweet turbo or supercharger a proper setup. and BANG off you go.

Sean if you do buy the 300hp 2.3L duratec off cosworth your not gonna turbo or supercharger it. It runs a 13:1 compression ratio.

pie it was a meaningless point that i made. your not going to buy a 2.3 ltr engine for 20 grand. your jsut better off buying a 2.0ltr focus engine and slapping a deccent size turbo on it and you would get more KW than the 2.3ltr.

i was just pointing out the fact that those types of engines are available not to mention the ridiculous price you have to pay for.

I'd rather pay 20 grand than have a purely custom turbo or supercharger set up that's not been proven over here. Plus that Cossie sounds horn, who needs a turbo?
