Hi Fellow Henry Lovers,
I am joining this site as I have finally embarked on the restoration of my 1977 XC Coupe. I purchased it in 1994. Then life got in the way. Finally, with kids left school, life blessing me and the universe leading me to the right man for the job i have taken it down from the top shelf of life's journey, brushed the dust off, scrounged up some spare change and begun. I am so excited. I am also so grateful. I bought it on a calculated whim, but it has almost become a metaphor for my life. My Brambles Red, 1977 XC Falcon 500 is an extension of me. and, as it is repaired and lovingly restored, so to will I be restored and galvanised to continue in a world that does not, or ever will, comprehend the world we lived in. A time that dreamt up, built, embraced, drove and celebrated the era of the Australian Muscle Car. Where the simplicity of Metal, form, power and tribalism united a country. United by rivalry, empowered by power, and we all had the chance to live it. I have three sons. Ironically, or unsurprisingly they all get excited by my car. Its in our DNA. Anyway, Shout out to As I travel this journey I would be grateful for some counsel based on your experiences as I am sure I am not the first to pour their heart, soul and hard earned into what the non believers might argue is essentially a hunk of metal. Hi All. Thanks for the inclusion. I have to confess always having had a Ford preference based primarily on reliability and comfort. Now in retirement and busier than ever, I'm glad to have found this group where I can continue to learn new tricks but also offer some experience of my own where relevant and possible. Cheers, Andy

Been a Ford girl for a lot of years. I've got a BA 2002 Falcon Wagon, her name is Goldie, & I've had her for about 8 years. Had an AU before my Goldie. Had a couple of late 1970 to early 1980's wagons before that, all of whom did some fantastic work for me. Goldie has done some kms, not the least of which is multiple trips between Albury/Wodonga & Bundaberg, where I now live. She's reliable & I love her. Don't ask me how I gave birth to 2 kids who are into Holdens!!!! Absolutely insane!!!!!!!! Hope to put a few bits of wisdom in the forum, as I'm lucky to be a little bit more knowledgeable about cars than the average woman. (had a truck licence in a previous life, not that I was ever able to drive trucks but managed to drive buses for a while..... back in the mid 1990's women didn't drive trucks did they!!!) |

Hi all, iv'e recently joined and want to say hello first and foremost.
I've had nothing but bad luck lately. But been blessed in the past to have 4 amazing sons. The oldest of my boys just did an amazing thing for me, he gave me his 1997 Ford Falcon xr6 to sell and keep the money to get me and his mum out of some financial hardship. What i want to know is the best place to sell this relatively rare car and how would i work out the value. Thank you all. |

I have a 2006 ford transit 2.4 diesel with asm gearbox and 65000klms with a Sunliner motorhome on its back I have enjoyed many trips up from sydney to far north qld over the years mostly bush camping I haven't figured out the site yet but I am now broken down in the main street of Miles qld I am looking for information regarding removing the asm pressure pump as the is no whiring etc and it has power to the connector near it Ive had no luck with any help from ford and my haynes manual doesnt cover ASM at all Its strange when on google I find information on this site but now I'm a member cant navigate to it from here😐 Any help is appreciated as ive been here for three days already and am getting nowhere everyone is booked up I'm hoping I can get it out and order one while waiting Thank you |

Hi there! I've just bought a 2018 Mondeo Titanium with 55k's on the clock. In like new condition. For the last 10 years my transport has been a 2010 Citroen C5. Beautiful car, but I live in Margaret River in WA and it been getting more and more difficult to get parts and repairs. No one here has the digital analyser it needs and are simply not prepared to spend time on dealing with it. Anyway, as an 89 year old, I felt I could do with something offering the full range of safety features which the Mondeo certainly does. The only thing I really dislike about it is the ride (which is rather sharp and jiggly after the Citroen), and worse, the close to unbearable tyre roar on coarse main road surfaces (such as the dual highway between Perth and Busselton). The car has 19 inch wheels and 235/40/19 tyres. Any suggestions for a quieter replacement tyre? It currently has part worn Kumhos on the rear and new what I think are el cheapo RXMotions on the front, fitted by the dealer before I bought it. I'm thinking of Michelin Primacy 4s or Continental Pure Contacts, but at $500 each.........?

Hello other Ford drivers, recently purchased my first Ford, a 2014 FG-X Ecoboost sedan in lightning strike. Nice car to drive and to look at, just needs a wheel and tyre upgrade over the factory 16" alloys and a heat exchanger replacement. Not really relevant but I have a large number of 1/43 scale Fords and a few Mercurys, 64 Thunderbolt being one of my favourites. I am employed as a parts interpreter at a Ford dealership in Adelaide, but work with multiple brands. I'm sure to have more questions, I'll do my best as a newbie not to come across as an idiot. Hi everyone, I have driven/owned Fords since the early 1980s, Cortina, Falcon sedans and station wagons, Ranger and currently I have the UAII Everest Trend which is by far the best car I have ever owned.

Hey everybody please let me intro myself,
Firstly thank you to the forum administration for accepting my application. Secondly.... My name is Graham Hill, I am a Brit residing in Philippines, been here for 17 years and loving it so much more than my own F**ked up country has become. A year ago I bought my first ever Ford, I got a Gen 3 Everest Titanium, unfortunately in Fil they don't do the V6 so it came with the 2 litre biTurbo diesel engine, and if I am truthful..... I have a few worries regarding its longevity. Well aware of the dubious wet belt set up. I also have an old 2011 Mitsub Montero Sport from new (possibly called the Pajero sport in Oz, it is everywhere else). That's been a hell of a workhorse but is now showing all of its 140K kliks. I needed something reliable for the missus whilst I am overseas. The forums in Fil are not very helpful and a lot of dubious info anyway. I know the V6 has sold well in Oz and figured this would be the best place to share thoughts, comments, ideas and info etc... regarding the rest of the model. That said I am not a big conversationalist and only post if I have something possibly worthwhile sharing or asking. This is probably the longest post I will ever stick up. Well that's me folks.... cheers |

Hey all, a newbie here but not to Fords. Always owned a Ford and grew up in them too. From Cortina’s, Escorts and Falcons. I still have a 2007 BF xr6 currently. I’ve had it since 2008 and still love the thing. Gone through the usual problems with them (mainly the interior) but I really don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it. Been thinking of getting a FG but still prefer the BF shape.

Good afternoon all
Sort of a new member. I did join the forum back in 2021. I am a retired accountant with 50 years in the trade. Don't miss it one bit. My motor vehicle background is mostly Japanese with 9 WRX's so far. Still have 2. A 2003 MX5 that I turboed in 2005. Still going very strong and a Mercedes AMG that is plenty fast enough for me. Plus some motorcycles that are not particularly relevant here. I was borrowing a neighbours 1978 F100 occasionally for some farm related work. Maybe every 2 years. I would then spend 3 - 4 days getting it going as it sat unused between time. The neighbour passed away in June this year at the tender age of 88 and I inherited the truck. She was the original owner. Been working away for the last 3 months getting it up to roadworthy standard so the registration can be transferred. It is a 1978 F100 V8 four speed 2WD LWB cab chassis with an aluminium drop side tray. The odometer shows 298000 kms. I was led to believe it was a 351 cleveland engine but after measuring the stroke at 3" it is a 302 cleveland out of a 1975 Ford Fairlane with a four barrel cast iron intake. The truck had a 250 six when new but it threw a rod sometime in the early 90's and a V8 was fitted. It had a 600CFM Holley that was leaking from every join, rattling throttle shafts giving variable idle and no consistent tuning. The serial number showed it to be about a 1966 build. Replaced that with an new Edelbrock 500 CFM AVS-2 that is working well. The distributor was seized in the counterweights so no mechanical advance and significant wear in the shaft bearings. Replaced that with a new electronic unit that also works as advertised. I have been chasing oil leaks, water leaks, seized front brake calipers etc etc. Finally believe it is now ready except for a stone chip in the windscreen that will be fixed next week.

My name is Greg, I have 97 laser liata 1.6 with 161K..I've joined as I am seeking help with a couple of small items. 1. Car has original radio need pin. I did try Ford but I think it was the USA anyway no response even though I gave Vin and serial number of radio as recorded in original handbook. 2.Tried to remove centre console but part of it crosses over to wrap around instruments and I can't figure out how it is connected above the steering. 3. Trying to find a workshop manual to help me work these things out as I'm not mechanical but I can follow directions for basic.stuff. Grew up with XY, WW, XA,XB,and XC all with 250. Dad's work truck for his horses was a F250 for about 25 years. Live NW NSW |
