I think this needs a sub forum catagory like the workshop builds, then a new post per car with pics, and public poll with 10 options: 1 - 10 overall rating...

imho the easiest way to set it up, would be to run the 3 categories (or 4 if wagons and utes want their own category) is similiar to how Wulos/Russ run the photoshop monthly voting.. A poll linked to an AFF gallery with pics of all the entries.
That way highest votes win, but at the same time you get 2nd, 3rd and the poor soul that get no votes :(

By the sound of think the best looking AU is the one you drive.

Plus there so many good looking AU around it's hard to pick a winner.

Bonus! someone took notice of my new suspension!

PS... it handles like a dream now ;)

And yep... ive been on the photoshop forum and its a great way of voting. However the 1 - 10 thing doesn't really work as its a simple one vote per person per category. Which is a shame. There's got to be some way of scoring a 1 - 10 for a specific car... hmmm...

Here's the link to the voting thread of the monthly photoshopping contest (worth looking at anyway, last months Audi had some awesome entries!) Give you an idea of how we could do it. Oh and only vote for a photoshopped car if you've REALLY looked at all of them so its fair for those who entered!

Here's a few thoughts, sorry for any repeated ideas!

Best Performance mods - proven by timeslip (what other reliable way to prove the actual performance?) I6, I6VCT, V8 (5.0), V8 (5.4)

Best stock car (unmodified, apart from very simple things such as snorkel and filter etc)

Best modification (exterior - not bling)

Best Bling (exterior)

Best Bling (interior)

Each of these catagories for Wagon, Sedan and Ute (Forte, Futura, Fairmont, Ghia, Fairlaine)

Plus extra catagories for XR6 and 8 and T series.

Also I reckon S1 againts S1 and then S2 and 3 as another catagory.

I agree that it should be a peer voted thing which is only fair, and I reckon the idea of 3 pics each is very good.

I know I have suggested many catagories, some may want more, but there are heaps of us here, with many different ideas on what makes our cars great, and I don't feel it's fair to compare a Forte or Futura to a Fairmont.

For instance, I would be far more likely to choose a V8 Fairmont wagon to win over an I6 Futura, in fact this is exactly what happened at the BBQ!

*GK once again heads to the cry corner to contemplate what could have been and console himself with the endorphins that accompany a good cry! LOL!*

BTW hope my ideas make sense!

Also, the 20 cars is a good idea, how do we decide the 20, first in best dressed? IF so, then I hereby start a list.

S1 Futura Wagon
GK

S2 and 3 Forte Sedan This is the SR of course!

The same 9 categories for interior mods, then exterior mods and then engine mods. That should cover all areas of interest. Some may enter various ones and some may only enter one. :

I will pull out of this, no point having a car in it thats not running.

Wonder if a standard word document should be designed for entrants, or if someone is smart enough, design a html page for completion.

I'm no where near in the running for the best Au on FF.com.au.
I'd be tipping Grunter, Minge or Jim for that. Best Au ute Falkeen would take it based purely off mods.

But here are my specs/pics anyways

Interior
Custom Trimmed DJR320 Seats on modified AU frames covered in Blue/black Leather
Blue Leather door inserts
BA scuff plates
Chrome Interior Door handles (T-series)
Momo Steering wheel blue/black
Momo T-bar shifter Black/chrome button also Chrome Handbrake button
Factory XR mats
Tinted windows
Factory VDO Satilite Navagation
Blue led interior lighting
Stereo
Head Unit: Pioneer 9650mp
Front Speakers: Alpine Type X 6.5 splits.
Front Stage Amplifier: Kicker 350.4 powering the splits fully active
Rear speakers/fill: Eclipse 5x7's (off deck)
Subwoofers: 3 Kicker 12" Comp VR's
Sub amps: 3 Alpine 700w Monoblocks
Box: 3 seperate sealed boxes covered by a fake wall behind seats.

Engine - Engine bay - Driveline
2.5" dual Exhaust dumped at diff, 2 chrome dummy tips at rear
Pacemaker 4-1 Extractors
BMC filter
CAI
Airbox mods
9mm Aftermarket Ignition leads and Denso Iridium plugs
HPC herrods intake piping
Trickflow 51402000 Camshaft
Isky springs and retainers
Felpro .039" head gasket bring comp to 9.6:1ish

I agree with Sylox on this, so I'm not nominating to go in any category at all. I think there are finer examples of AU's on these forums than mine. Apart from Exhaust, the car is completely factory, a body kit and rims doesn't constitute as a category winner and would sooner sit this out and leave it to people who have invested more money, time and energy into their car.
