I have 424 hours of leave owing to me. When I asked for some leave recently, the answer was a very quick YES.

Finally made time for the haircut and beard trim I’d been promising myself since mid-February. In time for a long weekend brunch at the Newport with a couple of FSB sleepers.
Cuff links, stick pin; when I step out I’m gonna do you in… |

Decided to finish off a 1/16 scale Kenworth i seem to have been working on for years...
I broke off one of the eye bolts in the bullbar around 5yr's ago and never found it again, then this morning while looking for something totally unrelated i found a pair that will suffice and made me kickstart my hobby back into gear |

I loaded up the 5 stacker with huge subwoofer instead of going Spotify tonight on the old lappy, with a weak and cheap but reliable 5.1 converted to a 2.1.
Uncompressed music is awesome |

Being on leave till May 4th!
While I will continue to do the collection of jobs for my own business, the relief from not fronting up for the usual 9 - 5 job is immense. 17 days away from customers, phone calls, collogues....... I think I may even turn my phone off!

Certain people at work have a habit of contacting me outside of my hours or when on leave for stuff that is totally solvable without my assistance. Phone off would be the best situation I think........

Finding field mushrooms in our top paddock this morning, been here 18 years and have never seen one, they ended up in butter garlic fresh herbs on toasted grain bread. You can see the rings forming so look like we will have them for the next week or so.

Mushrooms on toast, waste of good toast.
I'm afraid my taste buds never could take to mushies. Loved picking them as a kid on the farm, but to eat them...

I personally have nothing against mushrooms. Anyhow, you remind me of a couple years back when my kid ordered the portobello burger when we were out for dinner because its healthy. So its a standard vegetarian burger, but instead of buns its got portobella mushrooms. I tried to talk him out of it. 1 bite in he gave me a very sad look. So i shared my steak.

So my neighbor has her daughters family around today. Daughter, husband and 2 kids. Eldest granddaughter being almost 4, youngest a toddler.
So my neighbors son is a good mate of mine. It sounded kike he was running about in the yard with his neice. He lives there, so i thought make him the fun uncle as he'd be doing the cleanup. So i grabbed the unopened box of driveway chalk from when my kid was little and banned because cleaning the driveway was a pain in the hole. Turns out it wasnt my mate, it was his brother inlaw, the little girls dad. Not so much an issue, as part of the grandchild arsenal grandma has a chalk board inside. Funny part was, as kids do, the little girl pointed out all the colours she likes, and made it clear all the colours she doesnt. And in dad conversation, he mentioned how much the kids like the play house in grandmas backyard. After saying always check for spiders, he was a bit surprised that it was a handmedown to myself then passed on to my neighbour, so 20 something years old. |

Today my holiday ends in Tasmania after 4 weeks and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it .
If you have never visited Tasmania then I suggest you should put it on your bucket list as it will certainly be well worth the visit. Cheers |

Years ago I did a 6 week tour with a group of vintage cars. Awesome experience, and with old cars at a slower pace, you see way more than the “1 week in a camper” tourist. 4 weeks would have seen you cover so many things. Perfect amount of time to spend there in modern cars.

What made me feel good? Contemplating a headlight restoration job on my FG, and reading Linz’s post about buying new headlights. Check on eBay, and it appears I have an Easter voucher. Nice discount, so I got a pair for $103 each, free post.

This one was for the all places I missed on the last one and the weather on this trip was awesome for the time of the year. Cheers PS: Plenty of hot rods were here for an event in Ulverstone, seen that many while travelling all over Tassie. |

We struggle to take holidays at work - getting 2 weeks is about the limit (unless it’s over Christmas).
Hasn’t stopped one of my colleagues. He’s flown down there twice already this year, for a week at a time. First one was a cheap airfare when they were trying to get passengers flying again. He had such a good time doing a hire car run from Hobart up to Launceston, then on to Georgetown, and down the east coast. He liked it so much he booked a hiking trip near wineglass bay. More like glamping than roughing it, but he and his wife did a few nights away on that, and the. A few days fishing and touring around the Hobart & Cygnet areas. He’s already planning more short trips, to try to cover the whole island. The 2 best pies I’ve ever had were a tassie scallop pie at St. Helens, and a chicken + Camembert pie at Burnie. Haven’t topped them in over a decade of trying pies in 5 Aussie states and numerous country towns. |

After procrastinating for what seems like forever I finally painted my struts, tailshaft, K frame and a bunch of suspension parts and brackets from the car I am (not)restoring. Undercoat/prime yesterday and a nice 2K satin black today. Struts and tailshaft I had paint matched and 2K rattle cans made up so they are originalish colours.

Steady cool rain here which we haven't really had much of.

To be fair, assuming your talking about the reptile park near where old sydney town used to be. They do have a very big salt water croc.
