Default Best Auto Launching

sup guys

whats the best way to get the best launch from an auto ? :eclipsee_

Keeping in mind im trying not to blow anything just yet....

Do u rev it in N and then drop it into D ? If so, to what RPM ?

Start off in 1 and then manually change gears into 2 and 3 ?

Currently i just leave my foot on brake and gas (revving at 2000 RPM), whilest in D and release brake, and dump gas....

Only if you want to replace the auto that same day. It will drop its guts all over the place.

Yep, "D Slamming" is only for rental cars.

As Casper has said, foot on the brake and the gas is the way to go. This heats the gearbox up real quick, so try not to do this for too long at the tree. Wait until at least both of you are fully staged before stalling it up against the foot brake.

also you can 'flash' the converter.
this works well if your brakes are shagged and cant hold the car at 2000 rpm
hold it at say 1300 or 1500 on the brakes and let go of the brake and floor it. it should go up to 2200 or so and hold it there

Dont listen to these characters..listen to uncle useless!!

The best way depends on a few variables. It all starts with tyres. Can your tyres grab with the extra stall? If so stall it hard and let it go.If your tyres spin .Get out and lower the pressures. Then slam that puppy as hard as you can.Its really quite simple.
If none of the above work then you need better tyres or suspension.

doesnt lowering the tyres PSI decrease the grip on the road? Cause they arch up in the middle and hold on at the sides. The less PSI the less tyre on the road therefore more chance of wheelspin?

Nah it just puts more presure on the corners of the tyre while the rest of it sits on the road the same. So more rubber on the road more traction, also helps the rear diff while taking off, i noticed with 38-39psi (street) it axle tramped heaps, but with 15psi (track) it was heaps smoother.

But thier my findings so yeah.
