Default help needed fiesta WQ ciggy lighter

Does anyone know why the WQ version of Fiesta has a cigarette lighter slot, but no active fuse or fuse slot in the fuse box, and, any possible fix to have the lighter socket active?
just spent a bit on accerories that use the lighter socket, will spend a bit more if i need to see a sparkie
Any help appreciated
Thanx in advance
Bexel

Hi Bexel and welcome to the forum. I have moved your question to the Fiesta forum. One of the members here should be able to help you out

Cheers
Col

Here's a thread complaining about the WQ lighter being permanently on;

Very strange that yours isn't connected somehow.

Cigarette lighter doesnt work on my wife's WQ fiesta either.
I havent had a chance to check, but according to the cars user guide, there is a fuse for the cigarette lighter. The fuse box is situated behind the glove box from memory. You will have to take the glovebox lid out

Aprreciate the reply, but worked out the problem. all the fiestas lighters were permanantly on, until this (2008) version, where there is no fuse in the box & no contacts for a fuse to fit.... need to rewire through the radio system so it only starts when the cars running
