Just replaced the 6 CD Head Unit with a Kenwood DVD Player. Got my old one on Ebay.. I installed it myself, and it wasn`t easy..
Had to tig brackets on the Head Units tin cage support and fit a Aluminium ( Polished ) bracket at the rear.. Used a Cat10 so that the steering wheel controls would still work with the Kenwood.. Added a Bluetooth Plugin unit for the kenwood and while i was at it i installed a rear ccd reverse camera.. Having a 8 GB USB Stick gave me around 2000 MP`3`s Very happy with the result.. I`ll try and download some pics if it doen`t work i`ll use Photobucket |

Good work, looks very sharp. Any chance of a photo of the screen with the reverse camera on? to give us an idea of the view angle from its mounted position?

Some more pics of the reverse Cam in action...Cat10 for the steering wheel controls....
Position of 8GB USB Stick...Mic for the Bluetooth.. The tin housing was useless unless your happy with the DVD Player sitting on the Plastic pocket.. So i ended up Tig welding 2 brackets, one on each side of the tin housing. Using a Mig or Oxy would have blown holes on the tin housing,Forget Ark :-) Then i teck screwed the brackets into the dash steel frame using a angled Battery drill. I also used a aluminium bracket to support the rear..I even polished the bracket.. Click below for Pics http://s225.photobucket.com/albums/d...gg1/AU2%20XR8/ |
