Hi All,
Just getting around to getting a Redback exhaust for the wagon, and just wanted to get some feedback on what type of tip/s you guys think would look best on a wagon. Normally I like s/steel straight cut dumpy style tips but I don't know if this would look any good on a wagon. Would love some ideas or even pics from any of you out there with a wagon!! Not handy - They look the same as they do on a sedan or ute though. Had to cut a fair bit out of the bar so they didn't set fire to it, too!

that's what i was going to suggest - straight cut twins would look great on a wagon.. 2.5 - 3, either way it'll look good. The twins always make things look classy, i don't think a dump would suit a wagon.

Hi Justin,
I had twin tips on the wagon with nice note and no resonance from the HM Headers system I had installed http://www.awcinfo.com/secureshop/ca....php?cat_id=89 will try and get some better pics too I have since changed it to a dump 2.5 inch, the reason being that I bent the tail pipe when I backed into something on a slope. AU wagons present some minor problems, specially if you have a tow bar, there is not much room, and as said before, you have to hack the rear bumper anyway. My wagon has factory Tickford lowered suspension, so it does bottom out on some bumps and I have to be carefull getting into my driveway that it doesnt scrape the tail pipe. A full twin ( Left and right sided system ) is almost out of the question on an AU Wagon with the plastic fuel take and filler pipe and lines being the problem on the left. It is possible and expensive with heat shielding, but there is a blue - Shockwave - I think wagon getting around nothern Melbourne with twin outlets on both sides, and it looks hot !!! The long wheelbase of the wagon and lowered suspension makes your exhaust choice important as it WILL scrape and hit things in carparks and driveways etc, and if you are reversing and the tailpipe hits the ground because of the sloop etc, you will find that in puts a lot of pressure on the rear weld on the rear muffler, and the whole tail pipe breaks off - BUGGA !!! I am going a full twin system left and right out the back of my wagon when the T3 motor goes in. As for best exhaust tips on a wagon go to a shop and ask them to take a couple of tips and hold it against the rear bar and make your choice. It is up to you afterall and you need to like the end result.

What ever you do dont get a tip with a turned up edge on the inside because the exhaust catches it on the way out and it sounds crap, real ricey. :

Why not? because it sounds crap, you can get exhaust tips that have a smooth flow for the exhaust. Do u even know what im talkin about, why dont u have a look at a few tips at an exhaust shop then you might see :

well the twin angle cut tips on my exhaust made it a little quieter and weirder sounding : but they are gonna come off oneday anyway

Here's mine, quite simply a 3" mandrel bent black tip, as my exhaust fitter informed me, a wagon with lowered suspension, a donut tank & tow-bar reminds him why he should have "become a dentist". All in all, with the cat back 2-3/4" system, 1 muffler-1 resonator, it was a huge improvement. :voldar02:
