Hey everyone. Hope somebody can help me out. I have a 1980 mk2 Panelvan, 1600 4 speed. The front struts are stuffed and wanted to know are all mk2 struts the same? Can you put 2L struts in, if its a 1600? I undid the bolts and the hole diameter is 11mm and its 95mm from the centre of 1 hole across to another. Do other struts have the same measurements? Is it possible to have them over-hauled?

yes there is a difference
1.6 struts have a 49mm diameter strut tube, 2.0 struts have a 51mm diameter strut tube. the 2lt struts also have a larger spring platform 2lt struts will fit a 1600.

I have swapped struts over but the 2 Ltr are 100mm longer and stronger so will sit the front up a bit higher.
I have a Mk2 1600 PV in the yard with good struts if you can't find anything locally, I'm in Whyalla SA but freight is easy to arrange. |
