I was bored so I decided to take a few measurements and do this:
I made a cardboard template using the measurements and just cut a piece of aluminium (smaller than an A4 sheet) using tin snips, bent the ends down over a rounded table edge, and voila! Aluminium is conductive, but the sheet doesn't touch the battery terminals. But just to provide a bit of insulation, the underside was sprayed with 2 heavy coats of black primer (i might use a sound deadening spray later). I'll do a bit more trimming around the terminals to give the cover more clearance. I'll either clear coat the aluminium, or spray it white to match the car. I have enough material left to make two more covers (supplied unpainted), so if anyone's interested, and will be at SFS this Feb 3rd, let me know.

Looks the goods...
What's wrong with chewie and gaffa tape?? Works great on servers too! Cover would be great, but I'm a little far to make it to SFS. Thanks for the offer though... |
