Default Urgent Help Needed AU Rough Idle

G'day, Posting this up for my old man.

He has a 98 model AU Falcon Forte with a 5.0L.

It has a big idle problem, but it comes every now and then. Gradually worsening until it has to go to a workshop.

the rpm can greatly vary at a stand still up until the point where the car runs unbelievably rough, then it goes back to normal.

So for $3000 has been spent this month to avail, includes new coild packs, new leads, plugs, injectors have been twice in 3 weeks, car has been serviced and dyno tuned. Then hooked up to a comp which shows no faults.

Any ideas, had one suggestion that it could be the idler step down.

The old man says: 'it's breaking my balls.'
