Default Stall Converter

Hi,

I am looking at fitting a stallie in my car when the engine comes out in the next couple of weeks. From advise online I am looking at a 2500 stallie.

I had a look in my manual last night and it said the standard stall in a Mont Ghia AU3 is 2000-2400.

What use is a hi stall at 2500 if the stock is 2000-2400? I can see the gain if you are only getting 2000 out of stock and then install a 2500 unit but what if I'm already getting 2400?

Has anyone installed a 2500 in a stock V8? Any results?

Oh, I need to mention that I am installing a stock 220kw XR8 in the Mont.
