it is illegal to weld ur diff u get caught ur in big ИИИИ that is if u wanna drive it on the road

and i got told a rotary in a escort is as good as a normal 2L
if u want power put a cosworth in it and turbo or supercharge

I had a mate who put a rotary in his Escort back in the late 80's. It was always blowing up, so after the 3rd time, he sold it off and bought a Cortina instead. Stick with the 2.0lt as they are built-proof if looked after and are good for a reliable 180bhp with twin webers/dellortoes.
I know of someone who can convert your standard diff to LSD. He charges about $400 but if you are thinking of a big power engine you will need to change the diff to something a bit stronger anyway. Try a Hilux as they are virtually the same width and have a lot more ratios.

gillyesky - Try going to www.eurofordclub.com/gallery and register an account there. You'll be able to upload photos of any size and they will resize down to a size you can use here, and you can save them and post them here.

Alternatively, email them to me (tim at eurofordclub.com) and I'll put them up for you when I get a chance!

A mate of mine just put an RB20det in a datto 120y (don't ask I don't know why either)
he's using a ford courier diff, seems to work ok, with plenty of ratios and LSD availiable too.
