Highest VFL/AFL score was 239, by Geelong against Brisbane Bears in 1992.

I don't think I've seen a 200 plus score ever. I saw St. Kilda score 196 in 2004 but that's about it...

Im a really, really passionate Richmond supporter. Been a member for 9 of my 18 years. I love the club more than anything else. Went last night and the Tigers were hopeless. They didnt get the ball, were sloppy and lacked midfielders.

What can you do though? What hasnt been tried? We've been through coach after coach etc etc. Just going to have to let the kids grow. Only had 4 players, I think, with 100+ games: Simmonds (off for a lot of the match), Richo, Joel Bowden and Kane Johnson. Thats a very, very young and inexperienced team.

No excuses though. Geelong killed us. A night to forget, thats for sure.

I know its not AFL but Glenelg kicked something like 44 goals one match in the SANFL. : I mean ive seen 10 goal quaters b4 but not average over that for four quaters what the. Glenelg are the same colour as Richmond and are known as the Tigers or the Bays the clubs symbol is a tiger.

Wasn't a because of Darren Gasper being dropped, and players not being happy about it?

yeah its good team management to forcibly make Gasper retire while a dead weight like Richardson is kept around well and truely past his used by date.

I am sick to death of people bagging Richardson. Deadwood does not kick over 700 career goals considering Richmond's crap midfielders who pass to his feet. He's still a bloody good player on his day.
Nobody complains about Koutoufides, despite the fact that for 5 years he earned 1 million dollars (for each year) and spent 3 of them not playing. He has played only a handful of games where he as actually won a game for Carlton.

Richardson on the other hand has led Richmond to many victories on top of good performances. It is not his fault that the Richmond staff are idiots who cannot teach the team to pass above his head, allowing him to take an overhead mark. Even contested, Richo will generally beat his opponent one-on-one. Sure, his goalkicking isn't the best, but who else will kick goals for them? Ray Hall? At least Richo represents the Richmond Football Club with pride. If I was him, I would have walked out on that club years ago and gone to a place where a player of his caliber is treated and managed properly. Richo has shown greater loyalty to Richmond than the supporters and the club have shown him.

Secondly, I am a Geelong supporter and although it's a great win, I am not reading into it too much. We've beaten three teams so far... Richmond, Melbourne and Carlton...16th, 15th and 14th respectively. Doesn't say much now? Means that come finals time, we'll be on the receiving end of a belting.
I travelled from Melbourne to Geelong with some friends last week to see Geelong play the Kangas. On a par for ****weakness with the match in 2000 against St Kilda.

Richmond will live on. One day their recruits will actually lift. Hawthorn's have, magnificently.

Could not have expressed myself any better than that!!!
5th (?) highest goalkicker in AFL history does not constitute deadwood.

I have been a lifelong Tigers supporter.......geez it has been hard.
I'm actually glad Gasper's gone, his skills at this level today were below par IMHO, along with a few other senior players too.

Not saying he was never a good player, just stating that they're bringing in a youth policy and he is a good candidate to step aside, some times its best to go out on top.
A bloody good example is Tony Locket - highest alltime goal kicker, quit on top and then decided to make a comeback, how did that go?

I bet Terry Wallace probably thinks he should of thought more about the offer from the Hawks a few years back..

He's not a bad bloke Terry I worked at his house a few years back, but there seems to be big dramas down at Tiger land and it could mean big changes towards the end of the season.

Pies doing ok though, only thing is I keep tipping against them when they win!
