Hi guys, I took my car into Ford once complaining of noise form the wheels, got the handbrake adjusted. To my shock, nothing had changed, so I took it back and they admitted it wasnt done right. They did it again free of charge. 2 months down to today the same noise is back and the handbrake comes all the way up again.
My question is, should the adjustment have lasted this long or am I up for another bill? Edit- Might as well throw this is. Recently got new tyers and got an alignment, before that, whenever i turned left/right, the wheels would squeak ike crazy, seemed to stop after the alignment. The other night I was out with mates and the car somehow ended up doing some circle work.... (on loose dirt) Anyway, the noise sort of returned, did I just go and screw up the alignment :P |

I don't know if this helps but my handbrake would need to be pulled up quite high and Ford adjusted it for me. On my drive home, the thing went mad all of a sudden and started squealing like never before. Luckily I was about 100 feet from my driveway so I drove in, adjusted it a tiny bit at the handbrake lever and it seems to have stopped it, though it does occur _very_ lightly once in a blue moon and goes away if I top and cycle the handbrake lever.

my useless but maybe helpful tips
1, dont lift ur handbreak more then 3 clicks. 2, dont use ur handbreak 3, dont take nothing to ford! EVER!

well i adjusted mine myself, it works great now, it holds the car usually at 8 clicks, but i usually do it between 8 and 10, i think the threshold, ie where it is at an acceptable level is between 6 and 10 i think. it was a real pita to adjust, involved backing the adjustment cable right off, then pulling both the rear discs off and adjusting the calipers right up, no squeak and it still works great after about a month
