Default Rims or bodykit?

What do you recon?

Should I get the XR50 bodykit first and have the stock 16" rims on the XR or get the 18" rims & lower it then put a bodykit on later?

I am leaning toward the bodykit first but the rims may look way to small?

What have you people done?

the other alternative is that I get all the parts, bodykit, rims, etc and do it all at once?

Cheers

IMO, the body kit will look ord's without the right wheels which will make your car look like a try-hard machine. If you do wheels first, you will keep making it look better with every change until the kit goes on.

If you are set on the kit as well ... this is the order I'd get it done.

Wheels
Then kit.
The lower it once you know how much room your have left to lower the vehicle after kit and wheels have been installed.

I did the opposite. I bought the body kit, then got rims to suit. Limited options of body kit styles, but plenty of rim choices. Get the rims soon after the body kit if you can.

Rims can make or break a car. if you do the rims first, then might look good on factory kit, but against after market, it might look less than ordinary. Then you will be unhappy and need to buy new rims. I got 18's with the kit and founf they were too small. Thats why I went to 19's. I bought my rims 2nd hand so I got them cheaper than new.

Rims> bodykit.

I just don't see the point of bodykits, with stock wheels.

Seriously thou, with limited choices for body kit, you would be better to go the kit first. Rims can be changed, body kit, not so easily, but your going for a look, get rims to match the kit. It's the same as going from stock kit to body kit. The appearences change dramatically and when you look at the rims which were on the car before, they looked fine, till you stick on a kit, then the rims look all wrong. Who's to say he buys 17" rims, then after kitting it, decides he needs 19's because it looks too small. My pick is kit then rims. But, at the end of the day, its all cosmetic, so the choice is really yours. Personaly taste.

I always thought springs should be factored in as well. Get a suitable ride height after the kit, but before the rims. Bigger kit, more chances of scraping if you lower it going on your stock kit.

second rims are Zenetti Kaotik's, now made by starcorp, i love those wheels & was going to get some for the BF when i had it. First ones would suit an AU a lot better though.

not a bad look at all!

Anyway, as per the question- rims first, no question.

Really like the first rims too- love that style.

I've got my next set picked out now as well (no they're not it!)

Good luck mate and keep us posted

Body kit.

cause if you get rims, you will just be burning away (possibly) expensive rubber while saving for the kit.

I went bodykit first, then rims.. but thats just the way it turned out at the time. My bodykit is cheaper to buy and have fitted than it is to buy 4x19" tyres

Rims first, as they will look good with the existing bodykit. You could lower it next, then decide on the bodykit to suit.

The 16inch S1 Xr rims wouldn't do the bodykit justice IMO.

All the best with it.
