Imo i recon the black 1's only suit black cars ( or darker cars mainly ) - chrome 1's aint bad , prolly look better on white in chrome , but thats just my opinion ;) - what ever tickles ya fancy ..lol , be sure to check with your insurance comapany before installing these lights ;) .

Spend the cash on suspension instead.

Don't do it. If you have those ones with the yellow indicator panel change them for the higher spec ones with the clear panel as fitted to the Fairmonts etc... nicer, not ricer.

imo , and what i probably plan to do soon , i have scene 1 done to an AU too , looked nice ...is .. keep the taillight covers i have now but get the blank bulbs housings from jaycar - and you solder your own led's into the blanks which fit into the bulb holes , all ready to go , just add l.e.d's (certian type l.e.d's and wattage , all available at jaycar too) , you could even add like a line horizontilally across the centre off dark/blue l.e.d's or something into the round cluster of led's ,making up the brakelight , make a nice effect ? . check out the jaycar website if your interested

To be fair - I do like the black one but only on black cars. Haven't seen a chrome one that I think suit any colour as yet.

Hey, heres a thought..... Most of us hang poop in the Jap ricers for hanging big stupid fibre glass spoilers and wings of there cars. changing the head light and tail lights and other such garbage as that...... What I want to know is when someone throw's on a set of Altezzas, or put on a fake body kit to make there car look like something it is not (XR6 to GT). Is that rice. I say it is. I also say it bad tast. Spend you money on somthing worth while, such as suspension, or CAI

I have them on my car, but i have dark grey ones. They look ok, but keep away from silver as a mate had a set and the chrome went streaky..

Here's that 'Jaycar' goodie if anyone is interested/wants to check it out http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView...=&SUBCATID=347
Maybe even those Altezza's would look a bit better with the above globe setup in them ??? :nutsycuck

Imo if you like them , then go for it . There is allways gonna be people who like and dislike them ,its all up to you in the end. I actually don't mind them just for the fact that its a bit of a change to the other thousands of au's getting around with stock taillights , maybe a light rice mod but its cheap and u can actually see your mod , not like an engine mod which can only be fully used every now and then... not everyone has a pocket as deep as a well ! - small mods are ok to start with , makes the car standout in a crowd when it looks totally different to the others but is the same model ! . ;)

If you like then Simon, then go for it ;) - if you decide you don't like them later after fitting them then you can allways put the originals back on and sell the ones you bought back on e-bay ;) .

G'day Ozford, I've got the Shadow chrome ones, not too dark and not too much chrome for a Narooma Blue XR, I like them and have had great feedback from them, i've also noticed another XR the same as mine that has put them on there's just last week lol but not the shadow chrome. I can't get rims or suspension til next year so this was the next best thing for me. Your car mate, your choice IMO.

It's your car - do what you want to it. IMO, go with black not the chrome look. I've got black ones on mine and I like them. On mine (silver AU) they look really good and suit the car well. I think black on white will too.

Opinions are like, well ... the proverbial. You ask a question like that and you'll get all sorts coming out.
Just have a look at some of the cars that have them fitted and if you like what you see then go for it. It's your car and you are entitled to personalise it anyhow you like. Some people laugh at me for some of the things I do to my cars. Who cares? Doesn't worry me - my car is how I like it and it doesn't have to please everyone. Otherwise we'd all be driving identical buzzboxes eh? BTW my car is silhouette and I have black chrome ones - but slightly different to those in the pic. The ones I have are ADR compliant - you should check those in the pic because I don't think they are, and if they are not you could have trouble come rego time. |

I think they all look dead set aweful but really can't you think of 100 other better things to do to your car that will actually make it better to drive rather then something to make point & snigger at you?

Like everyone has been saying......It's MY CAR and i can do what i wont! I was just after people's opinons that's all.....I knew when i posted this thread that i'll be getting negative and positve feeback!
If people can remember it's just like me getting the blue GT strips on my car i liked them heaps and i'll proberly still do it....And if i don't like it then i can just take them off no hassle! Again same with the lights if i don't like them i can just take them off n put the stock ones back on and sell the others.... I would like to see what the shadow chrome ones look like as my wheels are shadow crhome! Yum-Yum would u be able to give me some more information on the shadow chrome lights! Cheers Simon :evilking: :nutsycuck |
