Default You Up for a drive this Saturday?

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of going for a drive out toward the NE / North of Melbourne this saturday 20th May. I dont expect 8 million cars but if anyone is interested in joining me i'll probably be starting around Eltham / Greensborough area, heading out to St Andrews, up some beautiful winding roads to Kinglake, then taking the back roads to broadford along the best roads i have ever driven on, smooth, scenic, low traffic roads to Broadford and back. Quite literally these roads are beautiful to drive in my opinion, from tight 2nd and 3rd gear cuttings, to wide forest roads marked at 100km/h to great open farmland paddocks with great visibility up to 5 corners ahead and a very unlikely sighting of a police car. A good friend of mine writes and drives for the The Age drive section and this is his favourite bit of road in Victoria. I couldn't agree more.

So i'll be leaving around 10am Saturday. Will post up a leaving location, and regardless of if there's 4 of us or 15 or 957, it'll be great fun. Id say a 3 hr round trip. Leaving from Eltham town somewhere most likely...

If your keen, give me a PM or my mobile is 0407 353 833

A few people have shown interest, its not a cruise as such, but a Suturday drive on some awesome roads.

Might see you there!

Right, ive decided an easy central meeting point would be behind Eltham Train Station in the Tennis court car park (runs paralell to the tracks). 10:00am.

Alternatively we could then meet any others at St Andrews Pub (stop #1) or even Kinglake (stop #2) as two seperate stops if its easier for some to meet there.

Cool, let me know what you think guys...

there is a high chance that it will be wet, i would recommend doing it in the dry, unfamiliar roads, other au's egging you on = fun or $$$$ in drain. i would come only on a dry day, then you can test the roads/car. Thats just my opinion.

I agree, those tight twisties are one of my favourite stretches of road, on my VFR800!

Would love to join you, but I'm working on Saturday. I hope you get a decent turn out!

All the best with it, if it goes ahead, post some pics won't you!
