Yup, I am afflicted. Anyone want to tell me how much I'm up for to get new ones? Should I start crying now?

Pedders are around $350.
The grip of the IRS makes it all worth it |

And yes, $148 was what it cost me for the pair from Ford SP, fitted myself.

I just replaced mine, cost $74 each original parts from my ford dealer. They fitted them for me during the 60,000km service 2 weeks ago.

: $90 to fit. They know how to charge. But I suppose they have overhead costs like about 20-30 minutes to do the job

The stoopid ford dealer wanted $180 for fitting.
Had a look at the mount after. How do they normally fail? The centre, is it a bearing, sheared loose..

it is a rubber mount.. with a metal sleeve in the middle.. the shock slides thru and bolts from the top ... the rubber is about 5mm thick.. and very solid..
the metal part does slide out.. (cant remember if its up or down) to remove the metal part form the center you need to remove ALL the rubber around it.. (did it when figuring how to mount my hydros.. which i am no longer doing for several reasons(finance company and insurance related) the AUs are going to be HORRIBLE once the rubber parts perish eventually!! almost all the suspension is held together by rubber.. |
