Errr I don't think so - none of the AUIII's, or for that matter most of the Late Edition AUII's were affected. The issue was corrected in a running change in the production of these cars.

I've had my AUIII XR6 since new and haven't received any correspondence concerning recalls.

It was only a majority off vehicle's affected between a couple off month's, not all AU II's were affected, but Ford can tell you the dates off the affected vehicle's.

There's a recalls site out there with all the details.
Lucky my AUII is an October 2001 build.

Can I ask what was up with this recall?

It may explain something to me...

EDIT MKII - Tibbo explained it. I don't get that, it's all good.

Your Ford dealer will be able to tell you if there are any outstanding recalls for your car.

If you want to know if your car was involved in any recalls then visit:

Government web-site listing ALL product recalls

If you want to know if there were any campaign items for your model then you will need to speak to your Ford dealer.

the studs the hold and locate the rack onto the alumium cross member can work loose, You get a clicking sound when you turn the wheels at low speed. Thats the rack moving :(

S1 & early S2 were affected. I would worry more about buying a car thats had a hard front hit & not being repaired right. On the drivers inside body frame a metal tag on the repaired date should bee there if it has been done

I had a non-critical recall done on my AUII XR6HP (09/01 Build) last service - on the service sheet it says: 'Vehicles 2B Crossmember RH Steering Rack Mounting Stud'
Maybe this will be of assistance to you...

I know there was a recall No RCMC252B which was a cooling system upgrade for all AU series I/II/III.

All they did was squash down the top row of the A/C condenser to allow more airflow to the top of the radiator and they also modified the thermostat.

Look to see if thats been done. (It was usually a pretty messy job!)
