Default 2012 Fiesta Zetec horn keeps randomly going off

Has anyone heard of a problem with last year model Fiesta Zetec where the horn and lights go off randomly? It happens when the car is parked anytime during the day...middle of the night and once when driving.

Ford service centre ask me to leave the car with them for three days so they can diagnose, but if anyone can help me I can ask them to check it. Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thanks

I came across an article from the UK which said there was a problem with some bonnet catch mechanisms on earlier Fiesta's in this particular case it was a 2009 model. A quick but not permanent fix was a quick soaking with WD40 but from my understanding they were being replaced under warranty but not as an overall vehicle recall. I'm assuming it has an alarm fitted ? If so, I would be guessing the problem lies within the alarm system or locking mechanisms
