Hi Guys, I have a ws 2009 fiesta and am having issues with the starter motor, sometimes the car starts, sometimes it doesnt, ford says i need a new starter motor at a cost of $491, a mechanic friend of mine had a look and says its the connections and I should take it to a auto sparky. has anyone else had this problem and what did you do ?
Car has done about 80,000 kms and i dont think it should need a new starter motor already, its only 4 yrs old ??? |

Haven't had any issues, I have similar km's on my '09 Fiesta ...
I would go and see an auto sparky, it will probably cost you peanuts to get fixed.

I'm on 200,000km's just replaced the factory battery two months ago, no issues with the starter or anything else as yet. Your local Auto elec can replace the brushes in the starters most of the time. Heaps cheaper than getting a new starter. That's probably not your issue with only 80,000ks but for future reference
