Default Fog Lights

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if you can put fog lights into the CL like the Zetec has?

Cheers,

Scooby

The holes are certainly there on the LX, and I believe it's the same on the CL. It's a matter of how much of the wiring harness is also lying dormant in there.

I'm about to find out whether I can get them installed on my Focus CL, having got the foglight kit and (just in case) wiring harness from here...

If they can't be fitted, I have a problem, but at a cost of $250 landed, it's cheaper than the $500 for the foglight kit alone I was quoted by a Ford dealer here in Oz.

Hi Andrew, it all went well. I didn't do it myself, mainly because of inexpertise, but also to protect warranty from "non-expert" installment issues...

But it only took an auto sparky an hour to get it all up and running. They work perfectly, though the new switch has a dial for those headlight shifters the Mondeos have. Must be something they have in top of the line UK Foci.

I think they did need the harness, so if you're thinking of doing the job, it's worth picking up the harness for the extra few bucks. Unless you're clever enough to make your own wire.

About $100. The going rate is $90 hour, plus a little extra for incidentals, like adaptors, connectors etc.

I'm sure everyone knows the use of the fog lights in urban areas is (99% of the time) illegal? The police have been cracking down, particulary on SS Commodores, in the Bankstown NSW area in the past month: a few mates got defected for having theirs on, not a nice fine. As long as these lights are used correctly there's no problem; but using them in city areas is the equivilant of driving round with flashing neons under the car. That's why I wouldn't bother ever fitting them.

*shrug* even if they're not turned on, chrome rimmed fog lights look better than a black plastic grille thing.

True, though the WS and WT front bar differs. You would have to cut into my front bar on my WS, as there are only vertical slits, not filled in with black plastic ready to be cut out holes like on the WT. That would get expensive.
