Default AU V8 Catalyic Convertor

Can, the catalict convertor be seperated from the header/s manifold ?,, under all the heat shielding ?

Only the standard V8s. XR8s have the cats welded to the factory headers.

so you think if the rocker cover has a handbuilt with pride by, tickford signed plate, i need to get the whole lot, hearders and all ?

Yes, I had this issue on my XLS Its like an pretty much an hour labour to get it rewelded, apparently there is a plate or something that is tack welded onfrom factory and eventually breaks, my ute did 140 thou kms and it failed at 141 ish thou kms, 99 bucks to repair it from a shop in dubbo.. ( i don't trust the exhuast shops in bathurst)

thank you FroudeyBrand, seems a viable alternative to drive out to Dubbo to see your man, I can get a bed there over night, where is the guy that did your repair/weld job mate ?
